Pictures of a vintage Yamaha PS-30 keyboard being repaired.
This Yamaha PS30 keyboard came from the local "kringloopwinkel", it was "not-checked yet" and relatively cheap.
A suspect situation, as when people there receive something "technical", there are three men jumping on right away, is my experience.....
Apparently, those repair café guys were unsuccessful, half of the fastening bolts were missing on the enclosure bottom, so they definately tried.
Probably they were lured by the amount of electronics supposed to be taken apart as the service manual suggested(it was not needed, the pictures in in show a lisghtly different version, I think).
At first, I was trying to start the wrong way, too......
The actuating conductive plastic appeared to have some dirt at the offending position. It can be removed by unbolting the keyboard assembly and taking away all the bolts from the plastic frame holding the large circuit card.
Carefully clean dirt from the contact areas on the circuit card, as well as the silicone ribbon containing those "black plastic little tubes" and put it back, problem solved....
BTW the picture of it shows all the bolts removed, already.
Originally, this keyboard comes with a battery pack also, unfortunately, this one lacks it.
